２年以上前の日記をたまたま見ていたら、下のような日記がありました。
＊皇太子様の記者会見で(2/23/'05)
今朝出かける直前に、テレビで皇太子様の記者会見を見ていました。そして、最近ある詩に出会いましたと詩を読まれていました。それは、アメリカの家庭教育学者の作った「子供」という詩で、スウェーデンの中学校の社会科の教科書に収録されているそうです。私もとても感銘を受け、ネットで早速検索して、英語のオリジナルも発見しましたのでご紹介します。（日本語訳は必ずしも全部訳されていませんね・・。）

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.

しかし、激励をうけた子どもは 自信をおぼえる
寛容にであった子どもは 忍耐をおぼえる
賞賛をうけた子どもは 評価することをおぼえる
フェアプレーを経験した子どもは 公正をおぼえる
友情を知る子どもは 親切をおぼえる
安心を経験した子どもは 信頼をおぼえる
可愛がられ抱きしめられた子どもは 世界中の愛情を感じとることをおぼえる
